ABOUT ELMECC

The Enhancement of Local Manufacturing and Energy Crop Cultivation for Clean Cooking Supply Chains (ELMECC) Project in Kenya is part of UK PACT partnership with the Kenyan Government through the State Department for Energy to contribute to the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) through the promotion of clean cooking solutions, Integrated National Energy Planning and off-grid solutions.

More about ELMECC

The project aims to advance Kenya’s transition to clean cooking by 2030 through strengthening local manufacturing, establishing quality standards, fostering inclusive business models and building capacity across the clean cooking value chain of Tier 4-5 solutions, i.e., biogas, electric cooking and bioethanol. This will include fostering enhanced women’s and youth participation, support minority groups and promoting inclusive business models that deliver affordable and accessible solutions.

The project is being implemented by a consortium of three organizations: Practical Action, GAMOS East Africa and CCAK, for a period of 12 months across 5 counties of Kilifi, Kajiado, Kisumu, Nakuru and Nairobi.
